The Caravan To Letchworth
The Monday we had waited so long for had finally arrived. The three trailers were hitched up, and Tom lead the way north to Letchworth State Park in Castile, NY. It was cloudy when we left, and high chances of rain were forecasted. The further north we went, the darker it got. It began to lightly drizzle, and that gradually turned into a heavier rain. We stopped for gas along the way, and the wind was blowing the rain sideways. Gail, the least experienced of the three people towing, was scared to death. After a few minutes of gathering courage at the gas station, we pushed on. It rained the entire way, but miraculously stopped as soon as we arrived at the park. We were joined at the check-in station by Bill and Marge and their Scotty. A few folks had already arrived, a few were yet to come, but the originally planned event of three trailers and five people, had grown to a much larger group. When Monday night rolled around, there were thirteen trailers and twenty people in attendance. Christi and Bob, our longtime Facebook friends, hosted a lasagna dinner for everyone. Once fed, everyone returned to their trailers as it began to rain lightly once again. Our special guest, Janet, got tied up and wasn't at the park yet, but she was on her way. The time was already going by too quickly, and the party was just beginning. Tuesday, the best day of the week as Janet always says, was just around the corner. And this Tuesday was going to be the BEST Tuesday EVER!!! I'll tell you all about it in my next post.
