The title of this blog post is something I've been asked a LOT lately. It feels like it's been a year since I last posted. Actually, my most recent post was last year, but 2018 was only a few weeks ago. I know I'm super late in saying this, but HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope that 2019 has started well for everyone. For my buddy Gary, it's been a busy one so far. For me...well, not so much, but I have exceeded my tendency to be EXTREMELY lazy. Hence the reason I haven't done a blog post in awhile. I REALLY need to change my ways. I'll work on that. I've got so much to tell you, so get ready for some classic Toaster babbling. Let's see, where did I last leave off? After our camping stay at Kolomoki Mounds State Park back in mid-December, we came home for a little over a week. Gary caught up on everything he needed to do at home, and on December 22nd, we headed south to Sebastian Inlet State Park for a 12 night stay. We camped in site 36, one of our favorites anywhere, and the most secluded and shadiest that the park has to offer. That was our longest stay at one park in our camping history. As usual, it went by in a flash. Other than a few campsite pics and a couple of sunset pics (including the final sunset of 2018), Gary didn't take a bazillion pictures like he normally does. I've posted MANY pics from Sebastian Inlet during our previous trips, so there really wasn't any need to do the same thing again. Mid-way through our stay, we were joined by our camping buddies Pat, her dog Skye, and her teardrop trailer, Gypsy. They camped over in site 12 near the inlet. Pat came over to watch some DVD's with us during the evenings. During the days, Pat and Gary went antique shopping all over the area. They went everywhere from Titusville to Fort Pierce, and found some COOL stuff. After four days, Pat, Skye, and Gypsy headed home, but I still didn't get to spend much time with Gary. He still kept running from place to place, walking the beach, and re-visiting some of his favorite antique stores. We headed home on January 3rd, and on January 4th, Gary took Casper the cargo van, and headed to Georgia without me to look at a couple of buildings for sale in the town of Hawkinsville. They spent two nights at Little Ocmulgee State Park. It's the closest park to the general areas where Gary has been looking at buildings to purchase. Will we be relocating to Georgia from St. Augustine in the future? Maybe so, maybe not. We'll see. A week later, Gary and Casper returned to Little Ocmulgee for one more night of camping, and to look at the most promising building yet in the town of Dublin. He found a real beauty there that's just a little over 10,000 square feet. But, before he buys anything else, he needs to sell something he has now, and that means selling his house over in St. Petersburg. Gary and Casper made a trip over there on January 28th to check out the house again (he hasn't been there in almost two years), and to meet with a realtor to find out what the house is worth. He was pleasantly surprised with the current value. If all goes well, the house should sell for FAR more than the cost of the building in Georgia. It's a cute little house, and it's MUCH nicer than our house in St. Augustine. We had another camping trip scheduled after Sebastian Inlet, but with all the trips to Georgia and St. Petersburg, Gary decided to cancel it. I was kind of bummed, but I understand. The camping season isn't over yet. And that brings us to now, February 3rd, and Super Bowl Sunday. We are enjoying our fourth and final day at Reed Bingham State Park near Adel, Georgia. We come here often, mainly so that Gary can attend the semi-annual car shows in nearby Moultrie. The weather hasn't been great since we've been here, but Gary did manage to spend all day Friday at the show. He went antique shopping (what else is new?) in Tifton yesterday, and today he's being almost as lazy as me! I think I'm what is commonly known as a bad influence. Tomorrow, we head to F.D. Roosevelt State Park in Pine Mountain Georgia for a five night stay, and we'll see where we go from there. Well, that catches you up on the latest happenings in our lives. Thanks for checking in!
